SAN ANTONIO — The Iowa Central sports shooting teams brought home three national championships a couple weeks ago, as well as national runner-up honors in the High Over All (HOA) awards.

The team includes Maquoketa High School graduates JP Crowley, Clinton Manning and Isaiah Miller.

Manning and Crowley were on the super sporting clays team that claimed the team trophy with 418 points. Manning had 84 and Crowley, 82.

In the HOA, Iowa Central was second in the overall standings with 2,226 points. 

They also were second in the HOA American Events.The team placing for the HOA was based on cumulative scores from the American trap, American skeet, International trap, International skeet, sporting clays and super sporting clays events.

Iowa Central was second in American Skeet (473), International skeet (231) and International trap (263).

Manning and Isaiah Miller participated in the American Skeet competition, with scores of 97 and 95, respectively.

Manning scored an 80 for the Tritons team in the International Skeet competition. He also recorded an 89 in the International Trap competition.

Miller hit 70 for the Tritons in the sporting clays competition, while Crowley came in with 69.
