MAQUOKETA — The Maquoketa girls basketball team lost its last two games to finish out the season, one against the No. 1-ranked Marion Indians and a good Central DeWitt Sabers girls team. The Cardinals will not make up their game against Solon. 

The girls post-season starts Wednesday night at 7 p.m. with a game against the Clinton River Queens. If they win, they will face North Scott on Saturday at 7 p.m.

PRESTON — The Easton Valley River Hawks girls basketball team defeated Prince of Peace 72-57 on Feb. 4. It was the end of the regular season for the Hawks, who opened tournament play Feb. 12 at Preston hosting Calamus-Wheatland.

The Hawks had five girls in double figures in scoring, with Sydney McNeil coming off the bench to lead the pack with 17 points. Right behind was Sarah Driscoll with 16, RaeAnn Carlson 14, Sydney Stoll poured in 11, and Sadie Zaruba scored 10 points for a balanced attack.

Easton Valley girls ended the regular season on a roll winning their last six games of the year.
