Camanche Invitational

The Maquoketa Cardinals girls bowling team on Feb. 8 won the Camanche Invitational for the first time. Camanche has won the girls’ division for many years in a row while the Cardinals have finished second the last two years. 

The girls placed three bowlers in the top five medal winners. Lexi Springer took home the first-place individual medal with a two-game series of 437. Alex Thomas finished second with 425, and Sara Andresen placed fifth with a series of 379. 

The Cardinal boys came just 41 pins short, finishing in second place. 

Lucas Ihrig took home the second-place medal, and Colton Goodenow finished fifth with a series of 427.
