The Maquoketa Cardinal girls basketball team got back to business Friday night hosting Clear Creek-Amana. After playing two games in one day against Clinton, the Cardinals had to wait six days to play again.

The Cards started slowly Friday night, trailing 15-13 after the first quarter. At the start of the second quarter, the Cardinals took control of the game and by halftime had an 11-point lead. They added to the lead to post a 76-56 victory.

The Cardinal girls are riding a four-game winning streak, but they have a brutal final week of the regular season ahead of them, with four games in five days because of the numerous games cancelled due to bad weather. Maquoketa starts regional play Wednesday, Feb. 13, on the road at Clinton, playing the host Clinton River Queens.
