PRESTON — Sadie Zaruba and the Easton Valley River Hawks jumped to a strong start for 2019, earning a lopsided victory against Lisbon Jan. 4.

Zaruba poured in 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and swatted six Lisbon Lions’ shots to lead the Hawks in all three categories Friday night in front of the home fans. Sarah Driscoll and RaeAnn Carlson also scored in double figures, both chipping in 10 points.

The Hawks’ defense held the Lions to just 8 points in the first quarter. Then the Hawks kept the pressure on to build an 11-point lead 31-20 at intermission. The halftime lead was too much for the Lions to overcome.

Easton Valley travels to Bellevue Marquette on Friday, Jan 11, then travels to Springville Tuesday, Jan. 15.
