The Maquoketa Community Thanksgiving Dinner was a success again this year.
A great team of volunteers provided a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for around 268 people. We appreciate the Senior Center allowing us to use their facility.
We want to say thanks to those who make this event possible this year: our main sponsors include Maquoketa Community Services, the Maquoketa Optimists, the Rotary Club, and the Eagles Club. We appreciate the volunteer planning team (Mary Ellen Kirk, Larry and Diane Frett, Ted and Diana Strait) that spent many hours setting up for the special day, and also the many hands that volunteered on the day of the event, for which we are most grateful: servers, dishwashers, drivers for deliveries, greeters, youth helpers, and donations of food — all serving together making the day a great success!
Many hands certainly made a delicious meal possible.
