It’s National Nurses’ Week, May 6-12! So many people in our community have been touched by our Nursing Staff at Jackson County Regional Health Center. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to each of those very special people.

I realize that their work is not easy, and it has been especially challenging this past year. Caring for people in need can be exhilarating and inspiring, but it can also be exhausting. They have compassion and endurance to show up every day, 365 days of the year to care for our patients. They have the patience and courage to deal with the health care changes that are constantly evolving.

Also, a very important aspect of the care that they provide is being the PATIENT’S Advocate. They are at the patient’s bedside, day and night, meeting their needs. They give competent, quality, and compassionate care to EVERY PATIENT, EVERY TIME!

So, during this special Nurses’ Week, I want to tell them how much they are respected and appreciated.

I respect and appreciate them for providing excellent and competent care.

I respect and appreciate them for their advocacy.

I respect and appreciate them for their gentle touches and smiles of encouragement!

But most of all, I respect and appreciate them for being the champion at the sides of our patients!

With heartfelt gratitude and deepest thanks, I want to say “Happy Nurses’ Week” to the wonderful nurses at Jackson County Regional Health Center. I am honored to serve with you and I am grateful for each and every one of you.
