Gene Thomas Koehler, 55, of Maquoketa, Iowa, died Monday, April 8, 2019, at his home.
A celebration of Gene’s life will be held Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church, 18 North Willough Street, Andrew, Iowa. Pastor Ron Huber will officiate. Fellowship will follow the service in the social room.
Gene was born in Lafayette, Indiana, and moved to Iowa when he was 3. He graduated from Clarence-Lowden in 1981. He joined the Army Reserves, serving for 20 years. Gene was on active duty for a portion of Desert Storm.
He graduated from Hamilton Technical College in Davenport, Iowa. He worked in the electronics industry all of his life and was working at Collins Aerospace when he died.
Gene was an active member of Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew and had served on the council.
He is survived by his mom, Janet Koehler of Maquoketa, Kurt (Donna) Koehler of Griffin, Georgia, and Ted (Karla) Koehler of Monticello, Iowa, along many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Thomas J. Koehler.
His family asks that all donations be made to Salem Lutheran Church in Andrew.
