A Maquoketa woman was picked up twice on the same day.

Officers arrested Jeanie Lee Farris, 49, 411 Butternut St., in the McDonald’s parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 21 after she didn’t show up for a court date on a charge of driving a vehicle without the owner’s permission.

Officers didn’t realize until after she had been released that the vehicle in the McDonald’s parking lot had also been driven without the owner’s consent.

Upon Farris’ first arrest of Dec. 21, she also was charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, after officers found 0.03 grams of meth in her purse, according to charging documents.

She had been released by the time officers received the report of the stolen vehicle from River Village apartments at about 11:45 a.m.

The vehicle’s owner did not know Farris and said Farris did not have permission to drive the vehicle.

Farris was found and arrested for a second time at about 4 p.m. the same day in a Maquoketa residence, according to charging documents.
