CARE CENTER

March 3-9

Prayer services and group exercises were done on Sunday morning. The residents enjoyed a nice lunch and visits from loved ones throughout the day.

Current Events were read to the residents Monday after group exercises. The reading group met in the front lounge after lunch. Brian came in to call Bingo for the residents in the afternoon. Earl and Mike were here to assist the residents. Mary C. won blackout today. Sammy came in the evening for activities after supper with a few residents in the front lounge.

Faith Group Bible study was held on Tuesday morning after group exercises. Doris C. stopped by for her weekly visit. The computer was taken around for Internet Education after lunch. Radio Bingo was played after that with one of our residents getting down to one number. We are getting closer and hope to have a winner soon.

Wednesday morning after group exercises the residents played trivia in the front lounge. Our Catholic residents were visited by Judy and received their ashes for Ash Wednesday. Margie D. made some delicious cookies for the ladies to enjoy for Ladies Tea, which is always held the first Wednesday afternoon of each month. We welcome outside visitors to join us anytime. Our ladies love to chat. A few of the residents did the Group Crossword in the front lounge later in the afternoon. We have some smart cookies here.

Thursday after group exercises, the residents met in the back lounge for Weekly Worship, which was led by Pastor Nathan Combs. We enjoy having the pastors take turns each week and look forward to our time of worship.

Lunch was served, then a few of the residents met in the dining room to watch as Cathy made the popcorn for Popcorn Thursday. Ron Lubbers came in for music entertainment in the later part of the afternoon. The residents sure enjoy listening to him sing and play his guitar. He is wonderful.

Friday morning the residents met for group exercises and then enjoyed manicures for one-on-one activity. Facials were given for a sensory one-on-one after lunch. Everyone met for happy hour later in the afternoon and then another round of KMAQ’s Radio Bingo was played. Still no winner but we will keep trying. Sammy came to do activities with a few of the residents in the evening. It was a very full week.

Brian was back on Saturday to call Bingo for the residents and blackout was won by Chong “Shorty” L. Lawrence Welk was on in the evening and the residents enjoyed watching him.

Warmer weather is coming so stop by for a visit soon.
