Jason Andrew Large, 41, of 326 11th St., DeWitt, guilty plea to domestic abuse assault, 30 days in jail (of which, 28 suspended), probation and surcharges; charge of obstruction of emergency communications, dismissed.

Shamika Katrice Peake, 33, of 422 N. Dearborn St., Maquoketa, guilty plea to public intoxication, $65 fine, costs and surcharges.

Edward John Slager, 30, of 32 S. Stephens St., Preston, probation revocation and imposition of sentence for second-offense domestic abuse assault, 30 days in jail, credit for time served and $315 fine; probation revocation and imposition of sentence for possession of a weapon by a felon, five years’ prison.

Pehn Delens Sotam, 47, of 105 N. Arcade St., Maquoketa, guilty plea to public intoxication, $65 fine, costs and surcharges.

Brie Anna Elise Allura Summers, 30, of 651 N. Matteson St., Apt. 1., Maquoketa, charge of fifth-degree theft, dismissed, victim restitution of $12.84 to Casey’s General Store.

Zachary Matthew Wells, 23, of 901 W. Summit St., Maquoketa, guilty plea to assault (original charge was assault causing bodily injury), $65 fine and surcharge; guilty plea to possession of a controlled substance, second offense (initial charge was third or subsequent offense), two years’ in prison (suspended), $625 fine and surcharges (suspended) and probation.

Mitchell Ray Hankemeier, 19, of 400 W. Angus Ct., Maquoketa, was charged with carrying weapons.

According to charging documents, on July 6 on the 100 block of North Olive Street, Maquoketa, a report of a person with a gun led officers to discover that Hankemeier had a BB gun in his possession, as well as an electric livestock shock device and a folding knife with a total blade length of 25 inches. Both the knife and shock device could inflict serious harm.

Benjamin Terry Harkey, 50, of 410 10th Ave. S., Clinton, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

According to charging documents, on Oct. 10 at 612 S. Niagara St., Harkey grabbed a victim by the arm and around the neck, causing pain and light abrasions.

Austin Jacob Michels, 23, of 209 N. Third St., Bellevue, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, first-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, and first-offense operating under the influence.

On Oct. 13 on the 2800 block of Highway 52, Michels rear-ended another vehicle. Michels smelled of alcohol, admitted to consuming beer before driving, failed field sobriety tests and tested above the legal limit, according to charging documents, and an officer smelled marijuana and saw a pipe on the console of Michels’ vehicle. Michels admitted to having the grinder, vaping cartridge and marijuana found in the vehicle.

Timothy William Miller, 25, of 53 Allen St., Miles, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

According to charging documents, on Oct. 7 at 53 Allen St., Miles, a victim alleged that Miller yelled at the victim and that Miller initiated a physical altercation by pushing the victim.

Angel Lynn Mikulski, 22, of 53 Allen St., Miles, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

According to charging documents, on Oct. 7 at 53 Allen St., Miles, a victim alleged that Mikulski got angry at a victim and pushed a victim.

Randy Ray Olsen, 49, of 314 N. Walnut St., Maquoketa, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree theft.

According to charging documents, on Oct. 8 at Walnut Street and Highway 64, Olsen was driving a vehicle with no plates, brakes or taillights. Olsen said he just bought the vehicle but had no proof of ownership, and the vehicle was registered as stolen from Bloomington, Illinois, in January, valued at $1,500. Officers found a marijuana pipe in the seat.
