Forester Kevin Oetken will hold a forestry walk at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19.

The walk will take place at Blackhawk Wildlife Area, located west of Maquoketa, off 138th Ave.

Participants should be prepared to walk 1-2 miles while exploring the area, looking at an old timber harvest, a newer timber harvest, and the impacts from the derecho.

Attendees will learn how to improve a timber lot and more about forest management. Bring your questions, come dressed for the weather and meet at the Blackhawk Wildlife Area parking lot.
